NBS announces temporary closure of public counters and filing office

As part of the measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the public counters and filing office at the NBS headquarters building are closed from Monday 16 March 2020 until further notice, as are the public counters at the central bank's regional offices in Nové Zámky, Banská Bystrica, Žilina, Košice, and Poprad.

We are therefore temporarily suspending the provision of services at all our public counters, including the exchange of damaged banknotes and coins, the exchange of commemorative coins, and the exchange of Slovak koruna banknotes for euro cash.

We hope the public will understand that this is an exceptional measure taken as part of the broader effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus and that the closures will not continue for any longer than is necessary.
