Commission for assessing the terms of consumer agreements and fraudulent business practices

The Commission operates within the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic, either on the basis of submissions received from consumers complaining about the use of shady business practices and unfavourable contractual terms by firms or on its own initiative. If a case so justifies, the Commission may request the competent consumer association to initiate proceedings to protect and enforce the rights of consumers or turn to the competent supervisory authority.

The Commission may provide you with guidance on how to protect and enforce your rights, information about consumer associations, and free legal assistance in dealing with state authorities. The Commission is not authorised to make decisions in respect of your statutory rights and interests. If you want to turn to the Commission, you must follow the relevant instructions that are available on the website of the Ministry of Justice.
