Paper - the quality of banknote paper is one of the
characteristic features that distinguishes a genuine banknote from a
forgery. The banknotes are made of special banknote paper of natural
colour, which has several security features, i.e. watermark, windowed
security thread or polyester security thread with microtext, and
fibres fluorescing under ultraviolet light.
Triple-coloured visible security fibres are incorporated in the
paper on the margins of the 5000 Sk banknote. On the front side, on
oval gold-coloured higly reflective foil is hot-stamped into the
paper, and there is a 23 mm-wide strip with gold-coloured iridescent coating on the back of the note.
Iridescent coating violet coloured is applied of back side od 200
Sk banknote too. On the 1000 Sk banknote series 1999 the iridescent
coating in red with multiple pattern featuring stylised thorns of
the rose is applied.
