Euro coins
Euro coins are issued in eight different denominations (1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent , 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent, €1 a €2). The common side of the eight coins shows one of three< designs common to all euro area countries showing different maps of Europe, the 12 stars of the European flag, the nominal value and the name of the currency unit. The national sides bear the national motifs chosen individually by each Eurozone country. Slovak euro coins bear the winning design chosen from the open competition announced on July 2004 by the National Bank of Slovakia and the results of the public opinion pool on which's consolidating results the NBS Bank Board decided which designs will be used on the Slovak euro coins.
