Viliam Ostrožlík
Mr. Viliam Ostrožlík was born on 8 February 1969 in Surany.
In 1992 he graduated from the Electrotechnical Faculty of the Slovak Technical University, specializing in Economics and Management.
In 2000 he was awarded an MBA degree from The Katz Graduate School of Business, The University of Pittsburgh.
From 1992 to 1998 he worked in various positions at VUB Bank, a.s.
From 1998 to 2000 he was appointed General Director of the Treasury Division, the years 2000-2002 saw him in the position of Treasury Department Director - both positions at VUB Bank, a.s.
In 2002 he was a member of the Prague Stock Exchange Chamber in Prague.
From 1 July 2003 to 28 February 2007 he worked for Privatbanka, a.s. (until 1 November 2005 Banka Slovakia), from 6 August 2003 to 28 February 2007 he held the positions of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director.
He is fluent in English and has a passive knowledge of Russian.
Mr. Ostrožlík is married and has one child.
On 31 January the Government of the Slovak Republic appointed Mr. Ostrožlík a Member of the Bank Board of the National Bank of Slovakia, effective from 1 March 2007.
He was appointed Deputy Governor of the NBS effective from 11 july 2007.
